Blood Strike modes
Sources checked Steam short description, 23 Oct 2026. Official update posts dated 20 Oct 2026, 22 Sep 2026, 1 Sep 2026, and 11 Aug 2026. Queues were not re-opened in a client.
Steam’s short description names three modes: Battle Royale, Squad Fight, and Hot Zone. It does not give player counts, circle timers, or map sizes.
The 20 Oct 2026 update adds Nightmare Trial on War Tide, and says Graffiti District joins several mode playlists on 5 November, including Hot Zone and an “SF - Strike Map Pack.”
The same post names Arms Race, Weapon Master, Team Deathmatch, Free For All, and Big Head. Those are playlist names, not full rules.
Older posts announced Overdrive, a Duel mode, and a limited-time third-person battle royale. Limited-time means they may already be gone. Check the client.
The store asks you to dive into Battle Royale, Squad Fight, or Hot Zone. A separate heading says team-based modes are meant to be quick to join: find friends, add them to a squad, take the fight together. That is the mode chapter of the Steam page. Everything else on this page is a dated official post, and it can lag the client.
The three Steam names
| Mode | What is actually known | What is not |
|---|---|---|
| Battle Royale | Named in the Steam short description. A Latin America tournament rulebook excerpt on the official homepage uses Battle Royale with squads of 4. That is a cup format (50 squads, three weekends), not a promise that public matches are 100 players. An 11 Aug 2026 news line added “BR - TPS” with Ranked and Custom Rooms for a limited time. | Public player count, circle times, ranked rules, whether third-person is still in the queue. |
| Squad Fight | Named in the Steam short description. The 20 Oct 2026 post writes “SF - Strike Map Pack” in a map list beside Hot Zone. This page reads SF as Squad Fight. If the client expands those letters differently, trust the client. | Round length, score limit, team size. |
| Hot Zone | Named in the Steam short description, and again as a playlist that will receive the Graffiti District map on 5 November 2026. | The objective. This page will not guess “stand in the hill.” |
Steam’s genre list also includes Racing and RPG, alongside Action, Adventure, Massively Multiplayer, Strategy, and Free To Play. Those are store genres. The about text does not describe a racing mode or an RPG progression track. Do not treat the genre row as a mode list.
Gliding is a locomotion line in the store feature text, not a separate mode. The homepage also lists Parachute and Airdrop as topic labels. See Beginner guide.
Named in the 20 Oct 2026 post
The 20 Oct 2026 update is the freshest official mode note read for this scaffold.
Nightmare Trial. Called new gameplay, on War Tide, with a nighttime Shutter Island. The post says searching or fighting earns Giggle Coins, the Clown rewards high ranks, and after a time the player ranked first in total Giggle Coins becomes the Clown’s spokesperson and receives his chainsaw. Special hunting missions are also “coming to War Tide.” Night maps are “coming” to Nightmare Trial and to Big Head. How much of that was already live on 20 Oct versus still rolling out is the post’s mix of present and future tense. Re-read the client.
War Tide is the place name those sentences use. The post does not define it as “the battle royale map” in a glossary. It is the name attached to Nightmare Trial and, in older posts, to other events. Treat it as an official place name, not as a measured map size.
Graffiti District. “Will be added” on 5 November (the post is dated 20 Oct 2026, so this date is still ahead of 23 Oct) to: SF - Strike Map Pack, Hot Zone, Arms Race, Weapon Master, Team Deathmatch, and Free For All. The post calls it a graffiti neighborhood and says to watch the small connecting pipes. Apex Arena “has been added” to Weapon Master.
Big Head. A returning gameplay in the benefits list, with a challenge. Rules are not printed.
Playlist names in that map sentence — Arms Race, Weapon Master, Team Deathmatch, Free For All — are real strings in the post. One-line rules were not attached. Team Deathmatch and Free For All mean what those English words usually mean only as a hint. Confirm the score in the client.
The same post says a custom-room option, “Only Room Owner Can Invite,” was added. That is a lobby switch, not a mode.
Older announcements, possibly gone
These were official when posted. “Limited time” and “brand-new” do not mean they are in the 23 Oct 2026 client.
| Announcement | Date | What the post said | Status here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overdrive | 22 Sep 2026 news line | A new mode with faster pacing and more intense combat. | Rules not printed. May have rotated out. Unverified. |
| Duel | 1 Sep 2026 | Head-to-head, multi-round, first to 5 rounds or more points after 9 rounds. Map: Apex Arena, a minimalist top-floor arena. | Rules were printed then. Whether the queue remains is unverified. Apex Arena is also named in Weapon Master on 20 Oct. |
| BR - TPS | 11 Aug 2026 news line | Third-person battle royale, Ranked and Custom Rooms, limited time. | Limited time. Unverified on 23 Oct. |
| Superpower Rivals | 9 Jul 2026 news line | Limited-time gameplay, meteorite crash on the BR map. | Limited time. Likely over. Not re-checked. |
| Titan Strike | 28 Jul 2026 news line | Attack on Titan collab, ODM gear on War Tide. | Collab. Assume it ended unless the client still shows it. |
What to queue while learning
Use a store-named mode you can finish, with a Striker whose skill you have actually read. VOX is the one kit written up on Strikers. A gun the 20 Oct post bothered to tune is listed on Weapons, which is not the same as “use only those guns.”
Ranked rating, party size limits, and fill-versus-solo toggles are TODO. They were not in the Steam about text on this check.
